The castle and the church of Sant Esteve and Sant Sebastià form a homogeneous monumental complex located at the top of the so-called Turó del Castell, from where much of the Pla de Bages and the Llobregat valley are dominated with fantastic views. .

The church is part of the National Artistic Heritage of Catalonia and, together with the annexed castle, is considered a Defense Monument and a National Monument of Spain.

The remains of the old castle of Sallent, which date back to the 10th century, form part of what was once the castle’s sovereign enclosure, where the Romanesque church of the 16th century is also located. XI originally dedicated to Saint Stephen and later also to Saint Sebastian. Its originality lies in the fact that it is one of the few Romanesque churches with a circular plan in Catalonia and stands out for its large dimensions.

Sallent Turisme organizes guided tours and routes to get to know the monumental complex, as well as the geological environment of the Unesco World Geopark of Central Catalonia.
