The bell tower of the church of Sant Mateu de Bages is one of the few examples of a bell tower from the pre-Romanesque period (10th century), with its characteristic horseshoe arches, although in some openings the arch is not very pronounced. The bell towr is the most interesting element of the parish church of Sant Mateu de Bages, which was rebuilt in the 19th century.

In the rooms of the rectory you can visit an interesting sample of traditional tools and objects from the rural world, while in the basement there is a set of anthropomorphic tombs excavated in the high-medieval rock. Due to its good state of conservation, it is one of the best examples of this type of necropolis in Bages.

In the surroundings of the church and the rectory there is a rural house as well as a children’s playground and a football pitch. Next door is a suburb of houses and the town hall, where there is a bar. All in all a great place to go for a walk and start / finish a bike or foot route!
