The ruins of Callús Castle, also called Godmar, are located on a hill on the left bank of the river Cardener, about two kilometers away from the village in a northerly direction. It is accessed by a turnoff from the road from Manresa to Solsona, shortly after passing the town of Callús.

The banks and surroundings of the castle hill are very accessible and pass by the south side of the church of Sant Sadurní and the rectory of Godmar.

In the year 941 this castle appears with the name of Godomare. This name is believed to be given because it was a certain Godmar who had it built to control the territory acquired by imprisonment. This situation, in which the castle takes its name from its promoter, is quite common in some fortifications of Bages.

In 1026 the castle appears with the name Casteluç, from which derives the present name of the town of Callús. The reason for this name change is unknown.
