Route 15.2 – 10.7 – 200m (Castelladral to Sant Cugat)
Routes in the municipality of Navàs but very close to the town of Castelladral, a space with spectacular views of Montserrat and Bages and tourist services to start the routes.
In these two routes, a jewel of the Romanesque style in the Bages region undoubtedly excels: the church of Sant Cugat del Racó. It is the only surviving church in Catalonia with a Greek cross plan, with profuse Lombard decoration, and a bold circular dome, starting from a square floor plan to a half-sphere shape. This architectural solution, developed in the 11th century, is the result of an undoubted exceptionality.
Some remains of the Romanesque building have been preserved in Sant Pere de les Cigales, but what is really noteworthy is that in the surroundings you can admire several medieval tombs and some grain storage silos.
