The Serra de Castelltallat is a protected natural area (PEIN), a place with low light pollution very suitable for observing the sky and stars. After serious forest fires in 1994 and 1998, it was decided to create this facility to encourage rural tourism in the area.

Located on top of a hill where you can still see the remains of the castle of Castelltallat and near the parish church, the observatory offers a dynamic night experience that allows us to enter the world of astronomy.
