At the village of Cabrianes in Sallent, the valley of the river Llobregat widens and allows the water to flow slowly forming the large wetland of La Corbatera with a wide variety of habitats, such as the native riparian forest, pine groves, oak groves, red marl slopes, sands, quays and a large expanse of reeds and bogs.
The tranquility and diversity of environments is a powerful attraction for a great diversity of birds, especially favorable to waterfowl, which stay there as sedentary or passing through the migratory route of the Llobregat. This fact gives it a great faunal and ornithological importance that can be appreciated while walking or from the adapted observatories.
